Where Geoff fits in.

My grandmother, Madge Dorothy Dyer, the daughter of Henry Dyer and Sarah Ann White, was born in Pinner, Middlesex, in March 1898 and migrated to Australia in 1920 after marrying my grandfather, Samuel John "Jack" Drew. They met during the Great War, through Jack's acquaintance with Madge's cousins Edward Victor and Harry Moreton Dyer, who were sons of Henry Dyer's brother Edward. Edward had migrated to Australia much earlier (date yet to be discovered).

There are survivors still - the small girls clustered around the "happy couple" include Madge and Hilda White - Madge with the curls and big bow, and Hilda with the hat, seated in front of Jack (I'm guessing).

Henry Dyer was born in Shepherds Bush, son of William White Dyer and Eliza Harrys. Sarah Ann White was born in Devon, daughter of Thomas Bridle White of Otterton (Passaford) and Susan Carter. Henry and Sarah Ann were married in Otterton, in 1897. The nature of their direct lines is such that they were second cousins by one 'path', and third cousins by another. As you will have discovered, the intermarriages between Whites, Carters, Bridles, Pavers and Dyers are manifold.

Bride and groom are identifiable, and I guess that the seated gent with the moustache and flanked by lovely ladies is William White Dyer, the lovely ladies being Henry's sisters.
