Muriel White

Robin has a photograph (kindly supply by Roz) of the Otterton School pupils in 1907, and in the front row is a young, but not so little, girl identified as Muriel White. Muriel Susan Doris White, born 6 March 1903 at Houstern Farm, daughter of Thomas Carter White and Henrietta Martha Ham. Anyway, she was a big girl for a 4 year-old, going by this photo.

Move on a few years, and here we have a photograph taken at "Arthur's" wedding (6 May 1928). "Arthur" is Thomas Arthur Ham White (Diane's grandfather), the blushing bride is Elsie May Graves, and the people standing are, from right, the Parson, Mildred Emily Dare White, Muriel Susan Doris White, and William "Bill" Peek (the husband of Marjorie Henrietta Mary White, the big sister of Muriel and Mildred, younger sister of Arthur). The general facial features and build of Muriel are fairly distinctive, do you not think?


And here we have what I have deduced is a photo of William Peek and his wife Marjorie Henrietta Mary White with what could be the first of their children. Diane confirms that this is indeed the Peek family, and the toddler is Minnie.
